Housing controls our lives. Most of us spent most of our working hours earning enough to stay housed--through the rent, our landlords dictate the communities we can afford to live in, the jobs we can afford to take, and what we can do with our homes. And because housing is a commodity, they make those choices for us on the basis of profit, not our well-being. 

Every year, San Diego's leaders promise that by building more housing they can magically ensure that the market makes housing more affordable and gives us more choice. But their policies don't touch the landlord's power over tenants' lives. If tenants want that power back, we have to take it for ourselves.

Join Tenant Councils of San Diego and DSA's Education Committee for a set of interactive presentations on what we can do in our complexes and neighborhoods to build towards a  future of social housing. Additionally, hear from tenants on lessons learned in 
organizing collectively to fight against their landlords, and for their homes.
